Send us a newer document

There is no form on this page, and no mailing list behind it. There is an address, and a short list of the messages that genuinely change what is published here.

The address

Write to [email protected]. It reaches the people who write the pages. There is no form on this page because a form has to post somewhere, and nothing here is wired to an email service — a box that swallowed your message and said thank you would be worse than no box.

What we can act on

  • A newer version of one of the four documents this site is built on. This is the message we most want. It changes figures on several pages at once, and we will say on the facts page that it came in.
  • A figure that does not match its source. Point at the line; we will re-read the document and either fix the page or explain in public why the number stands.
  • A sentence on this site that goes further than the document it cites. That is the failure mode we worry about most, and an outside reader is far better placed to spot it.
  • A link that is broken, a table that collapses oddly on your phone, a heading that reads as an instruction when it was meant as a description.

What we cannot do

We cannot look at a photograph and tell you whether a socket is healing. We cannot tell you whether the pain you have is ordinary. We cannot tell you whether a quote is fair, whether a tooth should come out, or which surgery to use — we name none, anywhere, for any reason. Every one of those questions belongs to somebody with a licence who can see the mouth in question.

If something is wrong right now, the list at the top of the eating page is the NHS's own urgent-advice list, and it is a better use of the next five minutes than an email to us.

Corrections policy

A correction changes the page and says so on the page. We do not quietly edit a figure and leave the date alone. Where a correction affects the facts file, that file changes too, along with the machine-readable list of figures that the build checks against — the build fails if a drawing and its sentence stop agreeing, which is the only reason that check exists.
